Gold & Silver Fáinne Scheme

This particular scheme provides an opportunity for pupils between the ages of 11 and 18 to achieve an accredited award for their level of competence in spoken Irish. The broad aims of the scheme are:

  • to reward and recognise pupils study of the Irish language
  • to encourage and consolidate the study of the Irish language in schools
  • to award a fáinne/certificate at a level appropriate to achievement

All universities in these islands (including Oxford and Cambridge) recognise the status of Irish as a school subject.  Employment opportunities using Irish are on the increase.  Why not be part of this development?
